Our spoiled pup Miss Bella

Miss Bella is so spoiled she has to have the hubby's jacket put over her or she won't sleep in her bed! I guess she wants his scent close to her in order to feel she isn't alone or something.If she doesn't get her way she just sits there and stares at you,which drives me crazy.Boy has she got us twisted around her paw! Gotta love them!!

Vernon's Kuntry BBQ Conroe,Texas

Went to dinner at Kuntry BBQ  which is the same owners of the Catfish place we ate at.We had ribeye steaks,green beans,potato salad and texas toast.It was good but I liked the catfish better,it just depends on you're personal taste.Nice family restaurant.

Vernon's Kountry Katfish Conroe,Texas

My back has not been feeling good and confined to the couch for rest,so my sweet hubby went out and brought me back catfish for lunch.It was so good with hushpuppies and fries,he got cornbread and coleslaw with his,it was excellent!This restaurant is rated top 10 in the state of Texas.Fried in peanut oil with cornmeal instead of flour,nice and crispy the way I fry it when I get a chance.If you're ever in Conroe give it a try,you won't regret it!

Conroe,Texas

Took a drive out in the country today and just love how green everything is from the much needed rain Texas has gotten.We picked up some Subway sandwices and stopped at this little picnic area and had lunch.Nice day for a little exploring,Conroe has grown alot in 2yrs. but I guess you can't stop progress!!!

Lake Conroe and Cagle Campground,Texas

Lake Conroe is a beautiful lake here in Texas which the levels were so far down in the summer they called it Conroe pond.Cagle campground is a very nice park with boat ramps and lots of good fishing,notice the shoreline where there fishing was all water 2yrs. ago when we came through.Lots of moss in the trees reminds me of Louisiana.Very nice locale if you like to fish or just get some peace.

Cracker Barrel Restaurant

Cracker Barrel Restaurant is a good place to eat and has  lots of oldtime ad signs that are fun to look at.They also have lots of neat things to shop for like old time candies,toys,candles,jewerly and novelties in the store.Oh and can't forget the old time rockers for that front porch!Wish they had them in every state cause they sure are fun.

Hawks making a nest

Some beautiful Hawks were making a nest out of branches right above our campsite.The male would fly off and then the female would tuck them and weave them in.There was a huge vulture watching so I hope when she lays the eggs they'll be okay but I think she stays with the nest.We watched and took photo's for an hour,how interesting to be able to see this.

The Guadalupe River by our campsite.

What a beautiful day of sun and warmth after the cold sleet and snow drifts of yesterday! Took a ride down to the river which is just behind our campsite,I love how the trees reflect in the water.We saw a bird on a little island,not sure if it was an Egret or a Crane but he looked like a statue.

Sleet and a dusting of snow in Kerrville,TX.

Wow it is cold here in Kerrville,30 degrees.We had sleet come in this morn and then turned to snow drifts for about an hour but melted fast.Suppose to warm up by Tuesday,I hope so it's chilly!!

Birdwatching in Texas

While at our campsite we got to view some nice birds,the Red Cardinal and a Robin.The Cardinal had a nest and the hubby took her pic cause  she was protecting it so made for a good photo.There are tons of Robins here and in Calif. that's a sign that spring is just around the corner.

Big Oak Trees and Windmills in Texas

Beautiful huge majestic oaks in Boerne,Texas a small town in the Hill Country.Quaint little atmosphere with that western feel and cute shops downtown.The picture of the huge windmill which I think is new but made to look old is one of the largest I've seen made out of wood.The people are very friendly and helpful with directions.

The Rocks,Az.

These rocks are near Benson Az. and they are so awesome.Big ones,little ones,stacked on top of each other,different colors,trees growing out of them.This was a rest area where you can walk around and take photo's of these amazing rocks,that's me in front of one of the biggins! So neat what you'll see along the way to you're next adventure.

Last sunrise in Quartzsite before leaving for Texas

What a beautiful sunrise on our last morning in the desert before leaving to go to Texas for our Gate Guard job.We will miss our campfires and especially our old buddies and new ones as well.All the clouds cleared and we had great weather all day but cool through Tucson and very cold in NM.
