The Petrified Forest,Az.

The Petrified Forest has some interesting wood laying all around in fields for visitors to view and this one was a huge tree they put concrete under to hold it up and is called Agate Bridge. The log on the bottom has pretty colors almost like an opal in color.This is in the same park as the Painted Desert.The fee is $10.00 unless you have a Golden Access pass then it is free.

The Painted Desert,Az.

We visited the Painted Desert in Arizona yesterday,I haven't been since I was very young.Wow it was so beautiful and changes color depending on the weather when clouds roll over they look dark and then different when the sun shines with pale purples,blues and pinks.The bottom picture is called Teepees and you can see the different layers of color.So beautiful!!It's worth the trip to stop and see the beauty of the Painted Desert.

Vermillion Cliff National Monument,Arizona

Some beautiful stops along Alt.Hwy 89 as we continue through Vermillion Cliff Nat. Monument.This house made around a huge rock has two rooms in it and made all of stones,this is what the Indians lived in back ages ago.Some pics of unusual rocks and of course the cliffs.Such an awesome drive off the beaten path.The cliffs have many layers of color,so beautiful!!

Arizona sites

We arrived in Az. yesterday on Alt.Hwy 89 and these pics are of Vermillion Cliffs National Monument.It just took our breath away at the beauty.You can overlook them from the top of the ridge and then drive down by them as you continue down the road.What a marvelous site to see!!

Red Canyon,Utah

Today was an amazing day for beautiful sights and great picture taking. We traveled through Utah most of the day and decided to take Hwy. 89 which is less traveled and came to Red Canyon.There was lots of snow from the night before but all roads were clear.These are just a few of the sights of the red rock formations.We wanted to continue on to Bryce Canyon but looked like the snow was coming down so decided to wait till Spring to come back and see it at a better time.Very fun and exciting day!!
