Our little traveling girl

Our pup Miss Bella is such a great traveler,she has her own bed and just sleeps most of the time.We just had her nails done and she hates it but soon forgets with the bribe of a new toy.When we say "You want to go for a ride" she perks all up and is ready to go! I have to admit she's our world!!

BBQ pits in Texas

Texas believes in having great cook outs,there known for some of the best BBQ'S around,this actually is a trailer set up with 2 big pits,an oven,a place for mesqite wood which gives that great flavor,a shelf that folds down for serving and 3 propane tanks up front.Yes Texas does it up right when it comes to slow cooking some brisket,chicken,ribs and sausage!Yum.

Bulls,cows and babies in field of bluebonnets

Even the cows like the bluebonnets here in Texas.It was a beautiful day just like Spring in the 80's with a slight breeze to keep the humidity from coming in.Looks like it's going to be a perfect weekend and good time to bring out the BBQ and do some grilling!

Spring blossoms are in bloom,Navasota,Texas

These beautiful trees were in bloom when we took a drive to Navasota.All the rain hasn't hurt them thank goodness.This gold one was a large tree but not sure what it is and the white one is a fruit tree.Sights of Spring are everywhere and the countryside is dotted with all kinds of color.

Bluebonnets in Navasota,Texas

The Texas bluebonnets are in full bloom and everywhere.We took a trip to Navasota where there are field after field of them.They have a wonderful sweet scent that you can smell all through the countryside.Gonna have to pick up a candle with the scent,it smells so good!!

Pizza Shack,Willis,Texas

Had dinner at Pizza Shack in Willis,Texas.It was just okay,the crust was overdone and a little salty,it could of been the cook on the crust. But they have a big selection of foods.Was very nice inside and clean.Hate to judge it on one visit,got it as take out and probably would of had them redo it but is was too far to take back.Chalk that one up to experience!

Sun finally came out and 80 degree weather in Conroe,Texas

After 2 days straight of heavy rain and thunder and lightning we finally had some sunshine!Boy was I getting cabin fever!!Woke up to fog this morning but by noon it moved out and was beautiful with a small breeze which kept the humidity down.Going to be in the 80's all week.I'm not complaining,I love my sunshine!

Original Super Burger #4 Willis,Texas

Had lunch at Original Super Burger #4 in Willis,Texas which has been on the History & Discovery Channels,I remember seeing it so we decided to try it.Of course the burgers we had we're not these giant ones but very tasty.As you can see in the pics the giant burger is probably if you eat it you get a prize,I can't remember exactly.They also have catfish plates and Chicken and other things on the menu.The service was very friendly,it's clean and order was up fast.I bought a t-shirt for $9.95.Reasonable prices and good food,so if you ever pass threw Willis stop and try it out.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church BBQ Huntsville,Texas

Took the hubby to lunch for his birthday at the Church BBQ in Huntsville.This restaurant was on the Travel Channel as one of the best bbq's. Hubby had chicken,brisket and sausage plate with potato salad and beans and I had 4 big ribs plate.The taste was smokey and tender and juicy!The story goes that a lady started doing bbq for the workers who worked at the church on Sunday and everyone loved it so much she started a restaurant right out of her home,this place doesn't look like much but was clean and all the folks were friendly.Bought a piece of sweet potato pie and pecan pie to take home for later,it was delish!
